The benefits of social groups through functional friends

Why Social Groups?

Social groups offer children, teens, and young adults a safe and supportive space to build the skills they need to connect with others, navigate friendships, and feel confident in social settings. Guided by experienced therapists, each group provides meaningful opportunities for growth through structured activities, play, discussion, and real-world practice.

Friendship Skills

Learn how to make and maintain friendships through conversation, teamwork, and shared experiences.

Communication Skills

Practice expressing ideas, listening to others, and using strategies that support verbal, nonverbal, or AAC communication.

Emotional Growth

Develop tools for understanding emotions, managing frustration, and handling challenges with peers.

Confidence & Independence

Gain self-esteem by trying new things, celebrating accomplishments, and participating in group problem-solving.

Real-Life Application

Activities are designed to mirror everyday experiences—from playground play to classroom teamwork to community outings—so skills transfer naturally outside of group.

Inclusive Environment

Groups are structured to support individual strengths and needs, creating a welcoming space for all abilities.
